Sahagun to Calzadilla de los Hermanillos

We decided to take the less travelled route - the Via Romana - we were passed by 2 bikers and 5 walkers, didn't see any others.  Just outside of Sahagun we left the route most were taking and took the old roman road.

We went 8 miles to our stopping point. Upon arrival the private albergue was full, the casa rural had 1 room left for 45 euros, so cheap us opted for the municipal albergue - the fee was donotivo - we each put in 5 euros. Not the taj mahal but its a bed.

Our albergue - 20 beds

We went to the casa rural for lunch, dined on the veranda, it was nice. . Really  a nice spot to eat and sit - blue shirt sitting at table!

Our walk today was through open space - blue shirt on the left and green shirt on the right

The route we took was marked with unusual signs

Arriving at our stopping point for the day

Two options for dinner tonight, both 10 euros. We eat where we had lunch or we eat at the private albergue.

Tomorrow is a 15.2 mile day with no towns along the way.  We have fruit and trail mix to get us through. Hopefully we can get a good breakfast before leaving this town.

It's 1:30 and we're showered, our favorite  shirts are drying on the line, sitting in the shade in front of our albergue - life is good

Afternoon tea and coffee at albergue that had no beds available but restaurant is open
