We were lucky! Lucky! We got to the municipal Albergue and they only had a few beds left. The woman gave us her room - our door locks, we have our own shower and toilet and just the two us in the room. The rest of the 70 peregrinos are in a couple of rooms. We paid what they paid 5 euros. We must have looked pretty pathetic when we arrived.
So today, like most days, we got up, ate something, walked till 11 and had the cheese and bread and fruit we carried with us, walked some more, checked in, showered, laundry, got tea and coffee and a tortilla (what we would call a frittata). Now we are soaking our feet in cold water!
Pics from today
The road ahead
The roman road
It's packed stones are tough on the soles of ones feet
And we walked - no towns the whole day
Getting out lunch, sat on a fence rail
The roman road, amazing that it's 2000 years old
Our tortilla
Our albergue for the night
Hanging out
Feels so good.
We had a glass of wine with people we had met along the way and Laura, the woman who runs the albergue, sat with us and told everyone how pathetic we looked when we arrived.
The walls of the city
