We stopped at the next Alberque after ours, the Jacques de Molay for breakfast. We had breakfast, el desayuno (cafe/tea, toast, and muffin) with Francis, Aussie, and 2 other Australians gals who had spent the night there. We frequently run into Francis along the camino. She often refers to us (me) as a bad penny, hard to get rid of! We keep crossing paths - many folks are traveling at our pace and end up staying in the same towns. We still run into people we met the first week out.
Arrived in Sahagun at 10:30 - a really short day. An easy walk, passed through 2 small towns on the way. Got into town and found a place to stay- Hostal Escarcha for 30 euros for the night, a block off the Plaza Mayor - close to everything, an awesome place, maybe our best place so far.
Our morning out on the Meseta
We came across a sign that we found quite humorous
Leaving Palencia and entering the province of Leon.
Decided to wear my green shirt today
Monument marking the halfway point from Roncevalles to Santiago. But we started 15 miles before Roncevalles so technically we are more than halfway to Santiago. Marilyn gave the thumbs up to this!
Sahagun: walked around town, got a bite to eat, bought some fruit for tomorrow.
