Hornillos to Castrojeriz

This Wednesday September 18 post

We walked 12.6 miles today for a grand total of 204.5 miles since leaving St Jean Pied de Port, France!

The Meseta is very nice and quiet.

We stopped for 1st breakfast, sat on a rock and each had a banana

Walked a little further and had 2nd breakfast at. Great little place in San Bol, the only thing there

We soaked our feet in the spring water- cold water

Marilyn went first, tested the waters

As we were walking along we heard bells and up the hill was a sheep herder with a herd of sheep (not sure if they can be seen on pictures)

Sign for Hontanas,  the next town

Coming into Hontonas

Coming into Castrojeriz

That was our day. Having another cafe, showered and shirts are washed!

Met some interesting folks today. A fellow from England, 75 years old. A teacher from Ireland on a one year leave from her job. Also saw walkers we haven't seen for a few days.

The biggest decision is what to do for dinner.  A sandwich or the menu of the way with 2 courses, wine and dessert!

Decided on sandwiches. Mare had tuna with tomato and I had ham with tomato.

Only 437k to go
